Why I hate Italians (I)

I've been to Sicily becore. It was a while back now. I can't speak for the Italians in Italy or the people who call themselves Italians with no true Italian blood in their veins but I can speak of the Italians here. My arguement still stands. In this country we are proud of are jobs, family, friends and lifestyle. These are all good things to me. Being proud is not a negative thing, it is a good thing. It means you have soul, heart and love for things. Emotional is what you may call us, because we sure ain't stone cold like most of eastern Europe.

Enlil, maybe your just upset because no Italians came up to you and said one of their corny lines. Is it possible that this could be true. Now as far as travelling goes, I've been a few places. Maybe not as much as yourself, but I've seen and heard nothing but good things when it comes to my culture. As a Canadian-Italian I might have different experiences than what you've witnessed. Let me tell you this. If it was not for the Italian community that is here in this country, we would be well behind many of the world leaders. They have built this country to what it is. In fact, they have made the Americas what it is today. An important part of the world. So be carefull who you compare us to.

So what would you recommend enlil, a holocaust to get rid of all the Italians in the world. If anything is disgusting here it is you and every other person out there for putting so much of your energy in to this. Get a life.

You guys are all a bunch of no good critics. I am Italian and I smell good, I have perfect teeth, I dress well, I eat well and I earn a good living. Italians are not perfect and neither is any other culture. Name me one culture that has no flaws and I will guarantee you negetive responses to the one you choose. Go ahead, name a few.

Marcello, never did I once insult people for having there own viewpoints. What insults me though as a human being is having to be stereotyped with your bad experiences. It is not only in Italy that when a white man is with a black girl you will have people gauking. This my friend takes place in most parts of the world. I do not think there is anything wrong with this kind of partnership but some people do. This is something that you must understand if you want to be comfortable with your choice. I'm referring to your website. I expect people to have different viewpoints but I do not respect hatred towards a whole race because of a particular bad bunch. I myself was 24 when I first moved out of momas house and it was by choice. I bought a condo with my own money and wanted to see what it was like to do it on my own. Not everyone is like me but I would never put anyone down who decides to stay home until either they get married or sick of living under their parents rules. Besides, when kids stay with their parents to this rippened age that you speak of, it could be for many more reasons than you know of. Or it could be for the obvious reason, which is to ensure that you will maintain the same quality of life that you are used to. If family is this strong to stay together I think this is a good thing and has lots of merit.

First of all Marcello, I think your an idiot. Second of all Italy has many universities and are recognized institutions in the USA. Of course though by the sounds of it you were not educated from either country. Third of all, many of the top scientists in the world come from Italy. I will be honest with you, there may be some slower paced people in the south of Italy but as soon as you start heading north watch out because these people are leaders of many industries. So before you start rambling some more on this topic, you should educate YOURSELF first before you make another mochery of your own heritage. Respect yourself and were you came from or you'll lose yourself quickly. Think about it.

Is this the real issue. Do people really put that much emphasis on what an Italian opinion is on other people. Do we as Italians block out anything that is good in other cultures. I would disagree. We embrace excellence and nothing short of it. When ideas are proven great, we can't help but except them. The standards are very high in Italy but that does not mean other cultures can't reach them. Not to say that an Italian standard is above all and all should strive for it but it seems like their is a lot of people out there who seek the acceptance of an Italian for some sort of reason and the proof shows here on this page. Why so many people have time to put us down gives me reason to believe that everyone on this page does like us but are looking for every way to insult us because of their own insecurities.

You guys all make me sick. Every race has their goods and their bads. Why don't you look at other cultures and poke fun. Every culture has their stereotypes. Italians are happiest if left alone. Let them be the way they want to be if it makes them happy. All of you haters don't have to deal with them if you don't want to. You also don't need to eat their food, or drive their fancy cars, or ever go to an opera, or where their clothes. Just keep your nasty comments to yourself. By the way, the whole lot of you sound like a bunch of Hitler's and Musolini's. Good job.

I have to say that I am apalled by all the racisim that I have witnessed on this page. I can see from all this that society has not changed much but has only gotten worse when it comes to this topic. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. It is funny how I never here Italians putting other cultures down the same way I have wittnessed all of you put down Italians. I can only come to one conclusion based upon what I have read. People who judge are people that usually feel inferior for some odd reason. Not once in my life have I ever felt discust towards another culter based on differences. In fact I have embrassed those differences, unlike most of you I see. Look at all the beauty the Italian culture has introduced into this world we live in. Just because Italians may be a little loud at times in my opinion should be no reason to receive all this hatred. Italians are good hard working productive people who feel strongly about keeping family together and about enjoying life to its fullest. I don't think I need to go on. The world knows what we have contributed. Almost every way we function in our daily lives in some way or another is because of some Italian intenuity. Let us try to be nicer to eachother because this whole thing is disgusting to me.
