SAM is the three times, undefeated champion of the “World’s Ugliest Dog” contest (2003, 2004, 2005), well, who could defeat him? Most unfortunately he was put down due to heart complications as he was close to reach ultimate fame along with 15 years of age.
“I’ve got a little itch there”
Susie Lockheed took him in as a rescue dog in 1999 and made an internet star out of him, followed by some screen appearances.
“Feed me a cookie and I’ll give you a kiss”
He is so special, he sports his own page on wikipedia although one would prefer it a little more elaborated.
“Is my lower lip a little crooked?”
Sam was a purebred Chinese Crested Hairless although if one performs a little bit of research on this particular breed he won’t find many dogs resembling this nature’s oddity.
“All this attention got me tired”

Hi all:
I’m Susie’s sister and I knew Sammy very well. He was a rescue dog who came into Susie’s life when he was around 9 or 10 and he was one very grumpy little guy when Susie adopted him, but he really opened up, with the trust and love he received. And yes, he really looked just like the photos! What a mug! He adored Susie and he was always with her, and she took wonderful care of him, many car rides and romps in her garden yard. Susie has a couple of other little dogs, too, so Sammy had his pooch companions as well and was never alone. He had a remarkable life, and it is true that he was a natural comedian with great timing for his ‘growls’. If you knew Sammy he wasn’t scary at all, just feisty and really aware of his unusual looks. He’s in doggie Heaven now but he sure has left an amazing legacy for all of us.

when i saw that dog i was like that is ugli bt wen i lukd into its eyes wen that red spot was in it i felt like god reali created smthn extra ordinary. love is unconditional and its not by choice its by chance.lovin that dog cudnt av been a choice 4 sussie. it was gods choice and am sure that dog loved her more than she or anyone cud av ever deserved. lets hope god gives us another chance t get that kind of luv individuali. and sabi;jux pray u dont av a kid thats uglier than that or as ugli no wan wud mock im or her theyd mocck u, ud reali dserv that,
